Belfast Media Group’s Belfast’s Top 40 Under 40 awards brought a big surprise for the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland!

For Fund Development Manager Helen McKeever left the glittering ceremony at Queen’s University as the recipient of a very special award.

Sponsored by the George Best Belfast City Airport, the Spirit of Tomorrow’s Belfast Award was handed to Helen by Raymond McNair, Director at the airport.

Minister Michelle O’Neill, guest speaker at the awards and the only member of the Executive under 40 years old, said; “Within my peer group, there are many accomplished and inspiring leaders throughout the island who are playing their part in improving economic, social and political life.

“I congratulate each and every one of them on the work that they’ve done and it is my hope that the next generation of leaders will be inspired by our achievements.”

A very pleasantly surprised Helen McKeever shared; “I had no idea this award was coming my way and feel very humbled to be placed among such a stellar group of recipients.

“To get the opportunity to raise the cause of philanthropy in front of such a special audience was amazing and I hope I see many of them again, as new philanthropists, over the next few years.”

Connla Lawlor, Head of Events at the Belfast Media Group, believes: “In tough times, Belfast needs young role models to look up to and we have those in spades with the Belfast 40 Under 40.
