Sport Relief Community Cash grants fund opens
Northern Ireland’s most deprived areas are again being helped with funding from Sport Relief Community Cash.
A £50,000 Community Cash Fund has been launched for 2012 and the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland is once again delighted to help administer the funding.
Grants ranging from £500 to £1,000 are available to grassroots organisations across Northern Ireland doing good work to help communities living tough lives.
Sue Wicks, UK Grants Manager, Comic Relief, said: “Thanks to the hard work of these groups, money raised through Sport Relief can get right to the heart of the local community and make a real difference where it is most needed.
“I urge as many groups as possible to get their applications in now for their chance to get a grant from the £50,000 on offer”.
Over 50 groups from the greater Belfast area received grant funding in 2011, including Sandy Row Residents Group in Belfast and the St John Bosco Amatuer Boxing Club.
Tullycarnet Dancers also received support, as did Laochra Loch Lao GAA club.
This money has been invaluable in helping these organisations grow and flourish within their communities, offering an invaluable service to local people.
